There is nothing cerebral about what I do, I’m just so much happier when painting, drawing and making prints. It’s all instinctive both line and colour the quicker I work the more fluid and rewarding the endeavour. Whether working plein-air, from memory or sketch books.
When I start to make marks, I never know how things will turn out, even though I have an image in mind or, a landscape in front of me and that’s the joy of it all, an addiction really. So many things brought to mind. I remember being taken to Lincolnshire Artist’s exhibition from school never thought I’d become a member.
The article on Pete Moss brought back memories as he was one of my tutors at art college along with Alan Smith – happy memories.
