My Passion is creating.

Wendy is a  contemporary British artist working with mixed media and oils, Wendy’s design background and life events influence her work. Her art is constantly evolving, experimenting with various effects that evoke emotions and bring back memories, with an interest in human connections and physical body shapes, exploring a wide range of issues with a distorted sense of realism.

She paints using texture and colour, working with oils, mixed media on different surfaces, with a sense of “about” rather than “of”.

Wendy exhibits annually as part of Peterborough Artists Open Studios, and has exhibited in the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in The Mall Galleries London, The Espacio Gallery Shoreditch London, as well as other galleries in Peterborough, Cambridge, Ely, Sleaford and Wisbech.

She works from her studio in Lincolnshire. She has studied with award winning artist, Martin Kinnear, exploring classical and modern oil painting, referencing painters throughout history to discover how they created their work.

Wendy has appeared on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year, and she is a member of The Deepford Artists and The Lincolnshire Artists Society.

“Life events have given me resilience, determination and optimism, and I am now channeling these experiences into my art. My hopes are to connect emotionally, mainly from evoking memories and imagination, interpreting life’s challenges or a sense of place. My personal experience becomes embedded in my paintings, exploring abstracted themes in mixed media that focus on movement, mark making and strong colour compositions. Building layers, marks, gestured drips, scratches, thin washes to impasto, the image builds up in layers, losing and adjusting until my objectives have been achieved.

Not hiding how the medium works and embracing accidental marks form part of the emotional essence of my paintings.

I am now thriving in an expressive and fulfilling creative life by allowing all my experiences and memories to shape my art direction, reconnecting with my soul and finding my inner peace through symbolic art.”
