2024 Spring show at Doddington Hall - people socialising at show opening

The Lincolnshire Artists’ Society first exhibited at The Usher Gallery in 1927 and has exhibited there many times over the years, but it is always a very special occasion for its members.

LAS exhibitions are held in other galleries around the county, including annually at Doddington Hall & Gardens.

The Society has at least one selected Exhibition each year. Sometimes there are two when we are invited to the Usher Gallery in Lincoln. The numbers of artworks submitted and chosen are governed by the size of each Gallery venue which means a philosophy of ‘quality over quantity’ guides the selectors.

Each selected Show is designed to give visitors a look into the many different working practices of our Members. There is an eclectic mix of styles and ideas which come together to form a unique opportunity to view the art and sculpture of some of Lincolnshire’s finest Artists in one place. Only original pieces are exhibited, with no duplicated prints or cards included in the Show.

Each Exhibition has an illustrated catalogue which also lists work available to purchase. The sold pieces can be collected at the close of the Show. An exception is sometimes made for buyers outside the UK to take the work earlier.

Large group shows exhibit the work of many of our artists and are held at regional venues
