This is an exhibition of abstract work by Janis Mitchell, who died in March this year. Janis trained in graphic design at Lincoln College of Art and went on to illustrate children’s books. She also painted landscapes and many scenes of Stow, the village where she lived with her husband,
Barbara’s work is based on landscape using wax, damar resin and pigment to create tactile, textured surfaces, to echo elements of the natural world.
Barbara complete a degree in Fine Art at De Montfort University as a mature student and draws inspiration from memory of places visited during travel through Europe.
