Inspired by the diverse landscapes of Lincolnshire, Rachel creates expressive, non-representational paintings that capture the atmosphere and essence of a place. Expansive skies, dramatic light and wide-open spaces provide a constant source of inspiration, while bold colour and intuitive mark making evoke the emotion of the landscape rather than its literal appearance. Travel has also broadened Rachel’s inspiration, but the focus remains the same, to celebrate the natural world through a distinctive visual language that invites viewers to form their own personal connection with each painting or drawing.
